What a Police Clearance Certificate Is

A police clearance certificate (PCC) proves you have no criminal record in the country that issued it. Canada and Australia require PCCs for every country where you have lived six months or more since age 18, and most immigration applications ask for the UAE certificate when you apply from Dubai.

In Dubai the certificate is officially called a Good Conduct Certificate. Apply through the MOI UAE app or the Dubai Police (GCC) app, pay the fee of about AED 220, and the e-certificate is issued almost instantly to within a few days. Police Clearance for Canada PR

For Express Entry, the UAE certificate covers the Good Conduct Certificate requirement. IRCC will also request PCCs from your other countries of residence. Keep digital copies of the bilingual e-certificate - it is accepted in its electronic form for most immigration purposes, and it is valid for the window your application is assessed.

Attestation and Translations

The Dubai e-certificate is already bilingual, so no translation is normally needed for Canada or Australia. Some other destination countries require MOFA attestation of the certificate. Check the attestation requirement before ordering multiple copies, and order at least one spare for your records.
