Which UAE Documents IRCC Accepts

IRCC expects documents from the UAE to be officially attested before submission. The standard chain is: notarise copies of the original, get them attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA UAE), and translate anything that is not in English or French. Attestation confirms the document is authentic, not that it is legally valid in Canada.

Degree Attestation and WES ECA

For Canada PR, your education must be evaluated by a designated body. The most common is WES course-by-course evaluation at CAD 242 (about AED 710). Attest your degree and transcripts at MOFA UAE first, then send them to WES. Missing or delayed attestation is one of the most common reasons files sit in processing.

UAE Employer Reference Letters

Reference letters are the biggest refusal cause for Dubai applicants. A UAE HR letter that simply confirms employment will not work - IRCC needs the letter on company letterhead, listing your job title, dates, weekly hours, and duties that map to the NOC TEER category you claimed. UAE HR departments rarely write IRCC-format letters, so plan to request them early and, if needed, provide a detailed duties supplement signed by the employer.

Marriage, Birth and Police Documents

Your marriage certificate and children's birth certificates must be attested and translated if issued in Arabic. Family members also need their own police clearances from every country where they lived six months or more. The Dubai Good Conduct Certificate is issued electronically in Arabic and English, which simplifies the attestation step for the UAE portion.
